<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial">We are pleased to announce the formation of the MDBoosters Club. The club is a reward for users who have made a noteworthy contribution to the MDPro community. Said contributions include but are not limited to developing a new module or significantly improving an existing one, adapting modules for use with MDPro, rewriting old modules to our new standards, developing blocks or themes, graphic design, writing documentation, writing tutorials, helping with support on the forums, and/or making a financial contribution (minimum of $30 U.S.D. or the equivalent) to the GPL Dev Association, our not-for profit association (beginning early in 2006). The required documents have traveled from one continent and country to another and the association is very near to being finalized.

Please note that those users who make the minimum financial contribution will automatically be enrolled as an MDBooster. Enrollment is not automatic though for any other type of contribution. Submissions will be evaluated for such qualities as compliance with standards, filling a big need in the community, originality and overall quality. The merit system and financial contributions will be used in determining enrollment as an MDBooster. We want to acknowledge contributors yet do not want to make being an MDBooster so easy that it is meaningless.

Benefits to MDBoosters include access to some restricted forums, including the beta testers forum, previews of new and changed modules and early notification of new releases. Additionally, they will be designated as MDBoosters on the forums. We say this guardedly: there may be priority support extended to MDBoosters as well. We do a very good job of helping all users now in a short while so this may not be needed much. Perhaps some assistance can be extended by our development team to those users that need help in coding. There may be other benefits as well (we're open to suggestions).

MD users who are not MDBoosters will experience no differences or decreases in privileges. The club is a reward for users who add something of significant value to the community and adds to their privileges without taking anything away from non-members. Rest assured that it will not be a system similar to that used by PHPnuke, a concern raised in earlier discussion by one of our users. We have taken this step to help strengthen our community and officially acknowledge those users who have made contributions to it. We hope you will be one of them. If you already are a contributor, we hope you will continue with your much appreciated efforts.
